Life Update // University

University is something I have always had mixed feelings about. The thought of it makes me feel both incredibly excited yet so nervous. Luckily, I have been offered an unconditional place at De Montfort University to study Journalism and Media BA (Hons).

With going to university comes big responsibilities such as living on my own, doing my own food shopping and juggling my time between studying and everything else. It scares me to think I'll have to fend for myself instead of having my mum and dad cook me dinner and wash my clothes. (Although bringing bags of washing home for my mum will definitely happen!) I'm so excited for this experience and thought I need to let you lovely lot know because everyone in the blogging community are so supportive and lovely!

I can't wait to start writing blog posts about things I have brought for my room and tips for saving money ect. Keep an eye out for those soon! I've already posted a mini haul here, but will probably post 10 more before I go, watch this space.

Anyone else looking at going to uni this year?

Ickle Baby Bot // Review

Unfortunately I have been blessed with super duper sensitive skin that hates anything that touches it. This means when it comes to anything bath related I am limited to products that are specifically made for sensitive skin.

I love Lush products and love bath bombs. All the glittery and super scented ones set my skin off so I can't really use them however, the lovely lady in the Milton Keynes store helped me find some products that are suited to my skin type and the one I opted for was the Ickle Baby Bot.

The bath bomb is designed originally for younger children because it's so gentle on delicate skin which is why it suits me perfectly! I love the lavender scene used. It's quite subtle but enough to give your bath a soothing smell. The aromatherapy oils used in the bath bomb is actually used to treat irritable skin and also for calming purposes meaning this bath bomb is perfect to use just before bed. I found this bath bomb so relaxing and for only £1.95 it's actually such a treat to use to unwind in the evening.

Any sensitive skin products you recommend?

In 2016 blog bloglovin fblogger followforfollow january lblogger newyear resolutions

2016 // Lets talk

Being a true blogger means writing down all the things you wish to achieve for the new year, so I thought I'd do the same. My guilty pleasure is hearing or reading all about what other peoples resolutions are. I find it so motivational... (For now)

1. Go to university!!!
University is both exciting and terrifying at the same time, but I can't wait till the summer when I get my grades and get to start a brand new chapter of my life somewhere new! (Hopefully...) I'm technically already a year behind where I should be in life but I know that this year I feel so much more ready to begin studying something I know I am passionate about. This year I am going to work my socks off to achieve the grades I need.

2. Drink more water.
I say this every single year... But this year I mean it! I know my body will thank me for it.

3. Blogging
Blogging is something I have kept quiet about since 2013. When I first started I wasn't uploading regularly and my content wasn't that great to read. However, since the beginning of the summer I really have tried to create a blog that people would be interested in reading. I recently shared my blog on my other social media platforms and the support I got from friends, family and fellow bloggers was pretty over whelming. I created my own Facebook page here if you'd like to give it a like. I feel like this year I will be uploading a lot more content and will be bringing bigger things to my little blog.

4. Eat better!
I have tried numerous times to become veggie but this year I am going to try for the whole of January and see how I feel about not eating meat. I know to some people that sounds crazy but either way I am going to completely change my diet. I will limit myself to one cheat meal a week (take away or munchies night) and will be eating at least 3 of my 5 a day every single day.

5. Relaaaaax
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am a worrier. I over think and stress about everything and anything. This year I'm going to start doing yoga twice a week to give myself some time to unwind.

Let me know any new year resolutions you have set for 2016!

Soap & Glory makeup // Review

Hello lovelies, this post was due to be uploaded yesterday but I was out and in all honestly it was late and my bed was calling (screaming) for me to go sleep! So, on Monday it was my mum's birthday and we went out shopping together. I'm attempting to save money but I was in need of a few bits and with Boots amazing offers I couldn't resist!

The first thing I needed was a non liquid concealer. I find these hard to find. I mean there are loads out there but not all of them work well on my skin as I have places that are oily and others are dry. But luckily for me, this concealer works wonders! (Especially under my eyes!) It has two compartments and 3 sections to apply in "order".

The first is split into two different shades of concealer. One for brightening and the other for concealing any spots or blemishes. I love the lighter shade for brightening up dull areas of my skin. It isn't too oily either but doesn't dry out my skin completely!

The next section is a light powder. I apply this over the areas I have concealed. This stops it from looking patchy and I also feel it makes under the eyes and round my nose look brighter and conceal red patches. Over all I looove this concealer and think it is such a handy cute size!

The next thing I got was a the Supercat Eyeliner Pen in Carbon Black.
Eyeliner pens are the best okay, They are just sooo easy to use and once mastered it takes a matter of seconds to apply! This long lasting eyeliner really stays on ALL day long which is a massive plus. You can apply thin, fine natural look or you can build it up a thicken out a flick, which is my party go to look! And this eyeliner is wonderful at doing flicks!!!

Any new buys you guys get this week? Drop a comment below, I love reading them:)

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter // Review

Hello lovlies! As promised I am uploading weekly again, yay! This post is going to be linked with other posts I do in the upcoming weeks as I brought a few new MAC products and want to review each one separately:)

When I went to Oxford a few weeks ago I popped into the rather large MAC counter in Debenhams. Unfortunately, where I live doesn't have a MAC counter which means I either have to go to MK centre or order online. (I hate ordering makeup online unless it's a repurchase!) My boyfriend actually brought the two products I got as part of my Christmas present. One of these items was the Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in the shade Soft & Gentle.

I love this shade so much simply because it isn't too dark so it can be used either lightly as a highlighter for the cheekbones or can be built up for more of a bronzing look. The shimmer is so intense in this product and adds such a natural glow when caught in the light, Below are two images; One taken with the flash and the other without just to show the shimmer better.

The power had a high metallic finish on the skin and feels so smooth. It's known for its velvet finish which is one of the reasons I chose this product. I use to add definition mainly to the tops of my cheekbones but also down the bridge of my nose and even under my eyebrows to give a polished finish.

I can't recommend this product enough. It's a perfect highlighter! As always I love discovering new products so if you are loving anything at the moment feel free to share with me!:D
