KIKO // One for the eyes

Since KIKO opened their store in MK shopping centre I haven't stopped splurging on their amazing products. *Sorry bank account* From many other posts you can tell I am a big KIKO fan and I have tried quite a few of their products. When I last visited they had a huge sale on eyeshadows and I have been wanting to try experimenting with using eyeshadow more so what a perfect opportunity! You can find the eyeshadows on their website here and here!

This beautiful pearly white is so good for using in the inner corner of the eyes to make your eye colour really pop. I also love using this for mixing with darker colours to stop my eyeshadow looked too dark. It has a shimmery finish which looks beautiful under the light.

The second colour I picked up is this khaki colour. In the photograph I does look more brown but when you apply it you can see the green tones more. I love this colour as I don't tend to go for greens but feel that the brown undertones make it a lot more wearable. The shade is very matte and blends beautifully.

Everyone needs a charcoal black eyeshadow. I use this across my lash line for when I do a smokey eye. It's very pigmented and the colour pay off lasts really well. I find this shade works so well if you don't want to use a liquid liner but want a more softer liner on the eye.

Next up I brought a silver/grey colour. I fell in love with this colour. I find silver works so well for me as I have blue eyes and feel it really brightens my eyes and brings the blue out. I tend to use this for a lighter smokey eye which is more wearable in the day time but you can also build the colour up for a night time look.

The last colour I picked up is this gorgeous champagne colour. I use this colour the most out of all of the eyeshadows as I feel it looks beautiful for an everyday eye look. I also used this as an eyebrow highlighter as it is so shimmery and picks up a beautiful highlight in the light. The colour isn't as pigmented as the others but is easily build-able. However, it blends beautiful and works with almost every colour!

A Dash Of Happiness, A Sprinkle Of Positivity

From time to time everyone has moments where they feel totally inspired to do good for themselves. And well honestly, today I had the urge to just write a little post of positivity. This is something new on my blog as I usually just ramble on about my favourite lipstick or foundation. *I can't help being addicted too makeup!*

I know sometimes life feels like it throwing you a million different obstacles and it isn't always easy to keep looking on the bright side. I thought this post would be a good read for when you are having a down day and need a little bit of inspo! Here's a few tips of keeping a positive mind.

1. Have time to yourself and only yourself!
It's so easy to get caught up in other peoples lives. Your friends, a relationship or ever work. Having time to yourself can really give you time to wind down, relax and focus. I think having some time to myself every once in a while really makes a difference to how positive I feel. Sometimes without it you can end up feeling so swamped. Even if it's for 10 minutes always put some time away for yourself. Watch a Youtube video, read a chapter of your book or just watch some TV. Make time for you.

2. Keep organised.
I must admit, being organised is kinda my thing and I can't help but make a list for absolutely everything. For me this works. For others it may not... But as it's my tips I thought I'd throw this one in the mix. I find by having an tidy room, house or whatever... You will also have a tidy mind!

3. Laugh.
Anyone who knows me knows that I laugh. A lot. I find laughing doesn't just put you in a good mood but also the people around you. If you wake up and start the day with a moody face your day is destined to be bad. So smile. Smiling and laughing is so infectious and making someone else smile or laugh can go a long way!

4. Everything happens for a reason.
Thinking in this way reflects such a positive outlook on life. It makes me feel so much better thinking in this light. If everything happens for a reason (whether it's good or bad) it shows that not everything in life happens the way you want it to! If you think positive things you'll spend a lot more time being happy.

I hope you enjoyed reading something a bit different on my page. I know this isn't a life changing post that is going to make you just think positive 24/7 but I just thought sometimes it's nice reading something with a bit more meaning behind it. Everyone has down days and it's nice to spread some smiles and keep each other looking on the bright side!

Love you all,

B x

The Best 'Ultra' Cover And Conceal Secret

For anyone who may have been living under a rock and haven't heard of Makeup Revolution, get up and go to your nearest Superdrug and buy as many of their gorgeous palettes as you possibly can! *Read the rest of this blog post first ;)* I do own some other Makeup Revolution palettes which I have saved as draft posts so keep an eye out for those!

There are three different shades of palettes. I picked up the shade called Light-Medium as it was a middle of the range mix of different concealer shades. I felt the just Light palette was a bit too wishy washy for my skin tone. The palette comes with 8 different shades which is amazing considering it is only £6! I tend to stick to the same three shades but some of the darker ones would be great for contouring with.

I love how pigmented these concealers are. I use this palette everyday making it a huge essential in my everyday makeup bag. The consistency of the concealer is a lot more creamier than I expected. They don't dry out my skin which is what I was mostly worried about. I find that I do still need to top of my powder to stop the concealer from creasing under my eye area, but as a whole they blend in really well and do exactly what a concealer should do. Cover.

Anyone else tried any Makeup Revolution products?

KIKO // Unlimited Stylo

KIKO is one of those brands I have wanted to try out for ages but never got round too actually taking the plunge and ordering something. However, some real good news happened this week, the new KIKO store in Milton Keynes finally opened its doors and it had the best offer ever! Buy three products, get three more for free. *Insert heart eyed emoji*

Of course if you've had a quick scroll down you can see this post is just about one of the products I picked up. That's because I haven't yet got round to trying out all my other ones, so as the weeks go on you will be seeing a lot more KIKO posts on my blog! Sorry in advance!

This lipstick is from the Unlimited Stylo range and I picked up the shade 13- Cocoa. This is a dark nude with purple/brown undertones. I find the purple/brown undertones really make this lipstick a bit more than just a nude for me. It's very easy to wear in terms of the colour. It's holding power is incredible. It claims to have 8 hours wear, which I totally agree with! It's a semi matte finish meaning it can be a little drying on the lips, but nothing a bit of vaseline won't fix. The packaging of this lipstick is real nice. It's shiny and classy and I love that!

I am in love with this lipstick and have been wearing it all week. I 100% recommend it and will defo be going back to purchase some more! Anyone else tried any KIKO products? Let me know below!

I Have A Soap & Glory Crush

I'm a sucker for pretty packaging, may seem a bit shallow but the first glimpse at a super cute product is normally what draws me in. I've always wanted to try Soap & Glory skincare products ever since I smelt the Sugar Crush Body Lotion and with Boots recent 3 for 2 offer I could not resist!

I picked up two of the pump bottle moisturisers. They are both available in tubs but I find it a lot easier to use a pump. Let's talk about my absolute favourite first. The Sugar Crush 3 in 1 Body Lotion. I can't even begin to describe how amazing this smells. It's literally the best smelling product I have ever owned and this factor alone is enough to make me repurchase this for life! You apply this lotion to damp skin and it works a treat. Not only do you smell crazy good, you also feel silky soft and smooth.
The second moisturiser I brought is the Butter Yourself Ultra Nourishing Fruity Liquid Moisture Lotion (Wow what a mouthful!) So, after I got over the super long name for this product I again noticed how good it smelt. This one is a lot more subtle, so if you prefer a more toned down smell for your skin I would 100% recommend this one. This one is great to use on drier and tougher skin such as elbows and knees. I found this one makes my skin feel really hydrated. I tend to switch it up and use one on one day and the other the day after!

The last thing I picked up is the Flake Away Body Scrub. Unfortunately I have been blessed with dry skin which is sometimes super embarrassing due to flakey legs. *inserts sad face* This product has been a life saver. Yes, moisturisers temporarily fix the flakey problem but this scrub actual eliminates it! I sometimes find scrubs a bit too much for my skin but this one leaves it feeling beautiful! And this product smells of fig which is gorgeous.

Anyone recommend any other Soap & Glory products? I'm eager to try more!

In 2016 bloglovin fblogger followback january lblogger lifestyle newyear spring summer university update winter

Life Update // University

University is something I have always had mixed feelings about. The thought of it makes me feel both incredibly excited yet so nervous. Luckily, I have been offered an unconditional place at De Montfort University to study Journalism and Media BA (Hons).

With going to university comes big responsibilities such as living on my own, doing my own food shopping and juggling my time between studying and everything else. It scares me to think I'll have to fend for myself instead of having my mum and dad cook me dinner and wash my clothes. (Although bringing bags of washing home for my mum will definitely happen!) I'm so excited for this experience and thought I need to let you lovely lot know because everyone in the blogging community are so supportive and lovely!

I can't wait to start writing blog posts about things I have brought for my room and tips for saving money ect. Keep an eye out for those soon! I've already posted a mini haul here, but will probably post 10 more before I go, watch this space.

Anyone else looking at going to uni this year?
